S.Jay Hamner comes from the land of Missouri, born and raised in Kansas City. My journey as an entrepreneur began with a simple yet powerful desire: to create something meaningful that reflects who I am and uplifts others like me. It started while developing a word-guessing game—what would eventually become RidlYeThis. As I worked on the game mechanics, I began doodling acronyms, one of which was 4 B.A.N.A.—short for Black, African, Negro Awareness. That spark led to the launch of 4 B.A.N.A. Unlimited, a cause-driven apparel brand that celebrates cultural identity, pride, and resilience through bold, intentional designs.
I became an entrepreneur because I wanted creative control over how I express and share messages that matter. I also saw a gap in both fashion and gaming spaces for platforms that amplify Black voices and heritage. My professional and personal experience in visual design, digital storytelling, and cultural advocacy uniquely position me to build brands that are not just products, but conversations.
With RidlYeThis, I blend education, entertainment, and cultural insight, offering a game that challenges the mind while subtly reinforcing vocabulary and heritage. With 4 B.A.N.A. Unlimited, I craft clothing that makes a statement and builds community around shared values. Both ventures are fueled by a passion for design, meaning, and connection.
As a self-taught creative, I’ve navigated branding, digital marketing, and e-commerce, designing logos, and managing social media. I’ve faced setbacks but remain driven by the impact I want to make. Entrepreneurship has become my way of honoring identity, inspiring pride, and building a legacy that others can be proud to wear, play, or support.
