All Profit Ain't Good Profit!

All Profit Ain't Good Profit!

My initial idea for monetizing the game had to do with allowing users to play the little master which is the easiest level, the middle master or the ridl master for an initial entry fee of $9. Now the little master level would subtract $1.80 from the entry fee per riddle. Which would allow the user to be able to solve five riddles with the maximum cash payout being 12 dollars if they got all five riddles correct and if they were 10 character riddles. #LittleMasterLevel The middle master level would subtract $3 from the entry fee per riddle which would allow a user to solve three riddles total. The maximum cash payout would be $13.50 if they got all three riddles correct and if they were 10 character riddles. 💵🔥 #MiddleMasterLevel And for the most difficult ridl master level it would subtract $4.50 from the entry fee per riddle which would allow a user to solve two riddles. With the maximum cash payout being $15 if they got both riddles correct and they were 10 character riddles. 💸💪 #RidlMasterLevel And the entire formula is shown in the post, hopefully you can understand it So we would sell the entry fees in $9 increment for example $9 packages $18 packages $27 packages etc. 💲📦 #GameMonetization #Riddles

Now after coming up with the formula for the monetization a couple of things happened. First my conscience kept accusing me of something and I couldn't figure out what it was. And secondly I was informed that for this type of monetization the app stores were going to charge 30% per entry fee. So let's do the math on that, if the user paid a $9 entry fee the app store would take $2.70 of that. 😕💰 #AppStoreFees And then later I found out to add insult to injury the IRS takes 30% off of the cash payout. So if the minimum payout was $20, the user will only actually receive $14 in cash.

Well, we figured out a way to get out of paying the app stores they're 30%, but that still left the 30% that's due the IRS on the cash payouts. 😩📉 #IRS Meanwhile my conscience is still accusing me of something. Eventually I came to the conclusion that this type of monetization might fall into the category of gambling. 💡Hello! So I decided to pose the question to Mr artificial intelligence and here's what he basically said. Gambling typically involves risking something of value such as money [or a fee] on an uncertain outcome with the hope of winning a larger sum [or cash payout.] If your word guessing game meets this criteria it could potentially be classified as a form of gambling. Some jurisdictions may have specific exemptions or provisions for certain types of games or contests that are considered skill-based rather than pure chance. These exemptions can depend on factors such as the level of skill involved the presence of random chance or the structure of the game. #GamblingCriteria #SkillVsChance

So while RidlYeThis is a skill based game there is an element of random chance also and that's where I got tripped up at. 🤔🎰 #MonetizationIssues Now the game of Bingo could be classified as a form of gambling due to the element of pure chance involved in the game. And the fact that you have to purchase the bingo card or pay an entry fee to participate in the game to be eligible to win a prize or cash payout. Now it's interesting to note that there's no specific law in the Bible that says you must not gamble. But some of the attitudes associated with gambling are greediness, love of money, selfishness and depending on the god of good luck. Proverbs 20:21 An inheritance obtained first by greed Will not be a blessing in the end, Isaiah 65:11 But you are among those forsaking Jehovah, Those forgetting my holy mountain, Those setting a table for the god of Good Luck, And those filling up cups of mixed wine for the god of Destiny, and 1Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is a root of all sorts of injurious things, and by reaching out for this love some have been led astray from the faith and have stabbed themselves all over with many pains. So as the title suggested earlier all profit is not good profit. Next time around I’ll explain why we won’t be having a Crowd Sale on the tabletop board game anytime soon. #ExercisePatience🙏 😉
